Kunming
Lots of choiceThe most options in Yunnan. Mosques and halal restaurants right in the city centre around Shuncheng — Chinese dishes, Dai-style, Middle Eastern, beef noodles.
Dali

We say "pre-researched", not "guaranteed". Restaurants open and close, so we check before we send you — and we'll always tell you honestly when an area has fewer choices.
Hi, we're Eric and Sandy.
Eric came to Yunnan in 2012. Apart from 2 years working in Kuala Lumpur, he's been here ever since — a hiker at heart who spends his days off on mountain trails, from Tiger Leaping Gorge to Meili Snow Mountain. Sandy, his wife, is from Thailand.
Friends from Singapore and Malaysia kept asking us the same thing: how do we see Yunnan properly — with the kids, with halal food, without a tour bus?
ES Journey is our answer. A small team based in Kunming plans every trip by hand, works with drivers we know, and stays on WhatsApp with you until you're home.

Is the price per person? Do kids pay?
The price is for the car, not per head — kids don't change it. We show a per-person number only so you can compare.
Does the driver speak English?
Honestly, no. Our drivers are local and use a translation app. That's exactly why Option B exists: we're on WhatsApp in English for your whole trip.
Is the food 100% halal?
We pre-research halal restaurants in every city and book ahead. We'll always tell you honestly when an area has fewer choices, so you're never guessing on the spot. For halal families, we brief the driver too: no pork in the car.
Can we change the plan during the trip?
Of course — it's your car. Small changes are easy. If a change makes a day much longer or adds a city, we'll tell you the cost before anything happens.
Can you book hotels, trains and tickets?
Yes. You pay the real price — we don't add anything on top.
How do we pay?
A 30% deposit locks your car and dates. The rest is paid by the end of your first car day. We accept Alipay and WeChat Pay — both work with foreign bank cards.
What if we need to cancel?
Cancel 7 days or more before your trip and you get everything back. Inside 7 days, we only keep costs already paid out for you — like the driver hold — and refund the rest, with the breakdown. Flight cancelled, road closed, someone gets sick? Tell us and we'll sort it out fairly; usually that's a full refund. You can change dates once for free within the same season.
Is there a peak-season charge?
During China's Golden Week (1–7 October), summer holidays (July–August) and Chinese New Year, there's ¥200 per car day. It's always shown in the quote.
